THE HELLO SNOWFLAKE DESIGNS STORY

Hello Snowflake Designs is a boutique stationery company that specialises in handcrafted artisanal wedding stationery and was founded by me, Ciara Hansen, back in 2017. Why Hello Snowflake you ask – because I love the snow, the first fall of the year is so exciting and it’s magical effect during Winter!

Originally based in Brisbane, Hello Snowflake Designs has since moved back to Europe, as I’m Irish, and set up a new home. We are based in the French Alpes but we deal with clients all over the world and ship worldwide. Being Irish, I’m very proud to have my own Handcrafted Wedding Stationery Company dealing with lots of couples in Ireland.

Hi, I’m the founder and designer at Hello Snowflake Designs. As mentioned I’m Irish but I’m also Australian. Some of the things I love are – chocolate, coffee, my family and dogs and being outdoors. Being a coffee lover I’m always open for a coffee and a chat.

I love classic, timeless designs, beautiful, luxury textures and elements and adding accessories that take wedding stationery designs to the next level. I love to design and create and to bring to life my client’s design dreams. I believe handcrafted artisanal stationery is something special, each piece has it’s own unique character and so much time and care goes into creating each individual item – something that can never be achieved from a commercial print company.

WEDDING SPECIALISTS

I love weddings, who doesn’t?! Every year all over the world, millions of couples either say ‘Yes I Will” or “I do”. The day you say ‘Yes’ is the day the planning begins. At Hello Snowflake Designs I understand that today’s couple want beautiful, bespoke, custom stationery for their special day.

I also know how little time everyone has to find the perfect design. That’s why I will work with you to create a bespoke design that you will be delighted to send to your family and friends and will be certain to make an impression.

PRINTING TECHNIQUES

At Hello Snowflake Designs I offer three printing techniques. I love the texture of paper and the impression left by the letterpress and foil press methods. The tactile feel of the impression of the paper creates a luxury finish to your stationery that everybody loves and appreciates.

I have an antique letterpress machine, a 1924 Saroglia Italian printing press. Each piece of stationery is hand printed, one piece at a time and letterpress allows you to print using almost any colour on the planet. Each design has a plate made and is specific to each client’s stationery. The plate is inked using the press and the impression transferred to the paper. Beautiful, thick textured cotton cardstock can be used leaving a beautiful impression on the paper that you can feel in your hands.

I also have an antique foil press. This allows printing in a very similar way – each piece of stationery is also hand printed, one press at a time. The foil press leaves a beautiful foil (shiny or matte) impression on the paper and the finish is beautiful. The plates created for a foil press design are made from metal, each design is engraved onto a piece of metal and then used in the same way to press the foil into the paper.

Finally I also offer digital printing (colour, including white). This style of modern printing also looks beautiful and can very easily create personalised results without the need for plate making.
